Arc faults are detected by bandpass filtering the current to generate a sensed current signal with a pulse each time an arc is struck. A resettable integrator integrates this sensed current repetitively over equal time intervals such as each cycle of the ac current. The integrated value of the sensed current is compared with the value for the previous corresponding time interval stored in a sample and hold circuit, with the indications of interval to interval increases and decreases in the integrated sensed values for a selected number, such as six, of the most recent time intervals stored in a shift register. For each time interval, a chaos detector counts the number of changes between increases and decreases for the selected number of most recent corresponding time intervals and accumulates a weighted sum of the counts which is time attenuated. When the sum reaches a predetermined amount, an output such as a trip signal for a circuit breaker is generated.
L'invention concerne la détection des défauts d'arc par filtrage de la bande passante du courant pour générer un signal du courant analysé présentant une impulsion à chaque occurrence d'un arc. Un intégrateur à remise à zéro intègre itérativement le courant analysé à des intervalles réguliers, p. ex. à chaque cycle du courant d'arc. La valeur intégrée du courant analysé est comparée avec la valeur de l'intervalle antérieur correspondant stocké dans un circuit échantillonneur-bloqueur avec les indications d'augmentation et de diminution des valeurs intégrées du courant analysé pour un certain nombre, p. ex. six, des plus récents intervalles stockés dans un registre de décalage. Pour chaque intervalle, un détecteur chaotique compte le nombre d'écarts entre les augmentations et les diminutions du nombre d'intervalles correspondants les plus récents et fait le cumul de la somme pondérée des données d'énumération atténuée sur une période. Dès que cette somme atteint un seuil préétabli, un extrant tel qu'un signal de déclenchement est engendré.
