The leading edge por- tion of the carrier body is preferably beveled and extends beyond the front end of the penetrator core. Preferably encompassing the carrier body is a nose shape to provide relatively low aerodynamic drag during flight. The carrier body is designed to allow the projectile to be spin stabilised when fired from a suitable wea- pon.
