Abstract Aromatic polyether sulphones Polyether sulphones based on diphenols corresponding to the following general formula (I): Image ) (I) wherein R1 and R2, independently represent hydrogen, halogen, C1-C8 alkyl, C5 or C6 cycloalkyl, C6-C10 aryl, or C7-C12 aralkyl; m represents an integer of from 4 to 7; R3 and R4, may be selected individually for each X and independently represent hydrogen or C1-C6 alkyl, and X represents carbon; with the proviso that, on at least one atom X, R3 and R4 both represent alkyl, the production thereof, films made from these polyether sulfones, composite films with other plastic materials and application of the films in gas permeation.
