Aromatic polyimide composition and articles manufactured therefrom This invention relates to an aromatic polyimide molding composition, comprising at least one aromatic polyimide (A) chosen from the group consisting of aromatic polyamide-imide, aromatic polyesterimides and aromatic polyimide free of any ester and amide group of specific type and typically from 0.5 to 30 % wt of at least one fluoroelastomer (B), with respect to the total weight of (A) and (B), to a method for manufacturing the same, to a molding process of the same, and to the articles manufactured therefrom. Preferably, the component (A) of the composition is at least one aromatic polyamide-imide manufactured by a process including the polycondensation reaction between (i) at least one acid monomer chosen from trimellitic anhydride and trimellitic anhydride monoacid halides and (ii) at least one commoner chosen from the group consisting of 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane, 4,4'-diaminodiphenylether, m-phenylenediamine and mixtures therefrom. Advantageously, the aromatic polyimide composition of the invention, owed to its improved flexibility during the molding process, is suitable for the manufacture of articles from mold of complex geometries, such as undercuts, without permanently deforming or cracking upon ejection from the mold.
La présente invention concerne une composition de polyimide aromatique de moulage comprenant au moins un polyimide aromatique (A) choisi dans le groupe comprenant un polyamide-imide aromatique, des polyesterimides aromatiques et un polyimide aromatique exempt de tout ester, et un groupe amide d'un type spécifique, représentant typiquement de 0,5 à 30 % en poids d'au moins un fluoroélastomère (B), par rapport au poids total de (A) et (B). Cette invention concerne également un procédé permettant de réaliser une telle composition, un procédé de moulage correspondant ainsi que des articles fabriqués à partir de cette composition. De préférence, le composant (A) de la composition est au moins un polyamide-imide aromatique fabriqué selon un procédé qui comprend la réaction de polycondensation entre (i) au moins un monomère acide choisi dans le groupe comprenant les halides monoacides d'anhydrides triméllitiques et les halides d'anhydrides triméllitiques et (ii) au moins un comonomère choisi dans le groupe comprenant 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane, 4,4'-diaminodiphenylether, m-phenylenediamine et des mélanges de ceux-ci. De manière avantageuse, la composition de polyimide aromatique décrite dans cette invention, en raison de sa souplesse améliorée pendant le processus de moulage, convient à la fabrication d'articles à partir de moules à géométries complexes, tels que des contre-dépouilles, sans déformation irréversible ni craquage au moment du démoulage.
