ABSTRACT AROMATIC POLYMERS Polyketones, particularly polyetherketones, are formed by poly- condensing at least one aromatic monomer having at least two hydrogen atoms, susceptible to electrophilic substitution with carbon dioxide in solution in the presence of an acid, eg the Lewis acid aluminium trichloride, capable of activating the condensation reaction.
