ABSTRACT -------- An arrangement for covering at least part of an elongate object, for example a pipe, comprises a heat recoverable closure sheet 21 which can be wrapped around the substrate, a patch 13 and a layer of adhesive for securing the edge portions of the sheet together so that the sheet can be recovered about the substrate by the application of heat. Certain properties of the patch for example its modulus and elongation, and of the adhesive, for example its lap shear strength, are chosen so that at least part of the patch 13 will be stretched by at least 5% in the recovery direction of the sheet so that the sheet will not slip away from the patch when it is recovered.
