ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE The subject matter relates to methods and arrangements for testing mineral soils and soilers compost to determine the nutrient content thereof. The subject matter provides for the extraction of one or more nutrients from growing medium including mixing together the growing medium and extract ant, thereafter shaking or agitating the mixture by hand for a predetermined period of time. A filtrate of such a mixture is then tested for the presence of nutrients.
