1 PHN 9190 ABSTRACT: The invention relates to arrangement for apply- ing a signal to a transmission line. Up to the present the application of signals to a telephone line in a sym- metrical manner has been performed by means of trans- formers. The object is to provide an electronic solu- tion which satisfies high requirements as regards the symmetry and which is suitable for a simple realization in integrated form. There is described a solution wherein the signal to be transferred is applied, super- imposed on a direct current, to the reference voltage circuit of a bidirectional current source, which, from high internal resistances, applies currents, which are proportional to the signal, to the wires of the tele- phone line.
