The invention relates to an authentication arrangement, which is based on a capacitive fingerprint sensor. The invention also relates to a manufacturing method of such a fingerprint sensor. One essential idea in implementing this invention is to fabricate a capacitive fingerprint sensor on a plastic substrate (363) with an embedded integrated circuit chip (380). The invention also describes a way to create two or three dimensional forms for electrode structures (321, 322, 325, 365, 366) that can be used to optimize the performance of the sensor. When the three dimensional structure is designed to follow the shape of a finger, a very small pressure is required when sliding the finger along the sensor surface. This way the use of the sensor is ergonomic and the measurement is made very reliable. The inventive fabrication method describes the way, how to connect and embed an integrated circuit containing measurements electronics with a batch processed larger scale electrode configuration that is used for capturing the capacitive image of the fingerprint.
L'invention concerne un système d'authentification qui est basé sur un reconnaisseur d'empreintes digitales capacitif. L'invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication de ce reconnaisseur d'empreintes digitales. L'idée essentielle dans la mise en oeuvre de l'invention est de fabriquer un reconnaisseur d'empreintes digitales capacitif sur un substrat plastique (363) muni d'un microcircuit intégré enrobé (380). L'invention décrit également un moyen de créer des formes bidimensionnelles ou tridimensionnelles pour des structures d'électrode (321, 322, 325, 365, 366) qui peuvent servir à optimiser le rendement du capteur. Lorsque la structure tridimensionnelle est conçue pour épouser la forme d'un doigt, une très petite pression est requise pour passer le doigt sur la surface du capteur. De cette façon, l'utilisation du capteur est ergonomique et la mesure est rendue très fiable. Le procédé de fabrication selon l'invention décrit la façon de connecter et d'enrober un circuit intégré contenant des circuits électroniques de mesure qui présentent une configuration d'électrodes à plus grande échelle traitée par lots qui permet de saisir l'image capacitive de l'empreinte digitale.
