20104-8673 ABSTRACT Disclosed is an arrangement for optionally connecting a facsimile device or a telephone set to a telecommunication subscriber line, comprising a line input for connecting the sub- scriber line, a telephone output for connecting the telephone set and comprising a telefax output for connecting the facsimile device. The arrangement comprises: * a line seizing circuit for seizing the subscriber line in response to a call signal from the subscriber line; * first detection devices for detecting voice signals or predetermined tone signals, which first detection devices produce a first connection control signal on detection of the signals and produce a second connection control signal in all further cases; * second detection devices for detecting voice signals, which second detection devices produce a second connection control; signal on detection of voice signals and produce the first connection control signal in all further cases; * connected to the two detection devices, connection devices for establishing a connection between the line input and the telefax output in response to the first connection control signal and for establishing a connection between the line input and the telephone output in response to the second connection control signal; * selection devices for activating the first or second detection devices as desired by the user.
