ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An arrangement for discharging liquid medium under a pre- determined high pressure from a feed pipe having a tubular end portion is disclosed. The arrangement comprises jet means adapted to be installed inside the tubular end portion of the feed pipe and having an inlet, an outlet spaced from said inlet and passage means connecting said inlet with said outlet and adapted to increase the pressure of the liquid medium to the predetermined high pressure as the liquid medium leaves the jet means through its outlet. Connecting means are receivable in the tubular end portion of the feed pipe and are engageable with it so as to sealingly install the jet means inside the tubular end portion. Arrangements of this nature have particular utility in the extraction of minerals.
