ARRANGEMENT FOR DISCHARGING, RECEIVING AND TRANSPORTING INCANDESCENT COKE Abstract In an arrangement having a fume hood arranged at a coke pushing site and a coke receptacle the invention re- sides in providing supporting members cantilevered to the fume hood and having sloping guide surfaces whereupon a roller-mounted cover is immovably rested while the coke re- ceptacle is being loaded with hot coke. Following the loa- ding operation the cover moves on its rollers along the sloping guide surfaces to close the coke admitting opening. The cover is set in motion by means of projections provided on the receptacle which engage the projection on the cover as the coke receptacle is carried to the loading position under the fume hood and in the opposite direction. The invention is useful with preferably a dry-type method of quenching coke.
