Abstract An arrangement for drying a fibre web (6), comprising a press nip (PN) formed by two press rolls (1, 2) pressed against each other; a drying fabric such as a felt (7) for receiving water from the web (6); and a hot band (4) for heating the web (6) at the nip (PN), the web (6) being passed through the nip (PN) formed by the press rolls (1, 2) together with the drying fabric (7) and the thin endless band (4) with good thermal conductivity. The arrangement further com- prises means (1; 3; 5) for heating the band (4) out- side the nip (PN). (Fig. 1)
