The invention relates to an arrangement for fastening railway rails to steel sleepers. A fixing clip (4), which has been passed through openings perforated in the steel sleeper (1) on either side of the bedding point of the rail (3), and retaining the rail in position by means of a spring (5), has been fitted to extend over a given distance downwardly underneath the sleeper (1) so as to simultaneously act as a lateral holding means (4a) for the sleeper.
