Abstract of the Disclosure Electrodes are conducted to a multiple electrode print head via apertures in a hollow drum which lead to grooves extending around the outer circumference of the drum, the electrodes being retained in these grooves and extending tangentially therefrom in further grooves leading to the print head. The drum is rotatable in a bore in a housing, and a drive arrangement is provided to rotate the drum in steps to advance the electrodes towards the print bead to compensate for abrasion of the electrodes. The grooves can be provided on the inner surface of the bore instead of on the outer circumference of the drum.
