ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is disclosed an arrangement for the inlet of cooling and combustion air in a motor saw, the arrangement having the outdoor air inlet for the cooling fan positioned substantially on top of the motor saw body, such that the air is drawn from an area above the saw, where the concentration of pollutants is considerably lower than at the commonly known inlet through the fan cover. Owing to the fact that the air inlet is positioned at a distance from the fan cover, a common air channel for cooling and combustion air is created between the inlet and the fan wheel, in which channel a shunt damper is arranged. The shunt enables a balanced mixture of cold outdoor air and warm recirculating inner air to be achieved so that a proper engine temperature can be effected.
