ABSTRACT An apparatus comprises an endless liquid permeable belt (1) for receiving a pulp layer (7). Above the belt devices (11) for the supply of treatment liquid are located. Each supply device (11) comprises a feed pipe (16) and a distribution member (17) for dividing the liquid into two flows directed concurrent with and, respectively, counter-current to the running direction of the belt. By means of a member (18) the counter-current flow can be deflected through 180° before it flows onto the pulp layer (7) via application members in the form of front and rear plates (19, 20). Both plates (19, 20) are provided with at least one gap (22) for applying a part of the liquid flow to each plate onto the pulp layer (7).
