A B S T R A C T The purpose of a chain catcher on a chain saw is to catch the saw chain softly at a so-called chain breakage or jump-off so that the sharpness of the chain will not be destroyed. This is achieved by the fact that a roller can rotate freely around the attachment of a tube of the handle loop under the guide bar attachment where it is hit by the chain at a breakage or a jump-off.
