2087010 9201180 PCTABS00010 A valve damper (4) is pivotally suspended and may in its closing position cooperate with a seat (1') e.g. formed in a ventilating channel (1, 2), and wherein an annular seal (3) may be placed on damper (4) and/or seat (1'). In order to achieve a smoke-tight closure of the damper, the latter is connected to the pivot shaft (5) via resilient carriers (8, 8'), the attachment points thereof on the damper (4) being displaced in relation to the axis of the pivot shaft (5).
