ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE ARRANGEMENT OF THE AXLE BEARINGS in A BOGIE FOR RAIL VEHICLES (20.515) An arrangement of the axle bearings in a bogie for rail vehicles includes a rubber-metal shell segment with an outer and an inner metal shell and a rubber middle layer arranged on the outside of each axle bearing. Each axle bearing is mounted in a lateral cheek by the shell segment. This provides a required primary and vertical axle deflection combined with a required horizontal lengthwise rigidity of the axle mounting in a simple and economical device. The elastic, or rubber middle layer of the elastic shell has openings which are arranged in the direction of the axle and above the axle level. Also coaxial metal sections are embedded in the rubber middle layer of the shell segments, starting from its lengthwise sides. One opening each is provided at the end of the metal sections and at least one opening is provided in the elastic middle layer above the openings at the end of the metal sections.
