2079341 9115417 PCTABS00007 An emptying arrangement for bulk material in a cargo hold or storeroom (2) comprises a horizontal conveyor (3) which is movable up and down in a longitudinal middle plane of the room. The bulk material (7) to be emptied is made to slide down towards the horizontal conveyor, and the remains of the material which after this natural process will be left in the room (2) will be pushed in towards the conveyor (3) by means of inflatable cushions (14a-14d) which are arranged between the floor (9) and the side wall (11) of the room (2) and an inner diaphragm member (8). The emptying arrangement may be fitted in existing vessels (1) with an arbitrary shape of the cargo holds (2). Here the horizontal conveyor (3) may feed a lifting conveyor (4) which in turn transfers the material to a belt conveyor (5) mounted on a derrick (6).
