The invention relates to a device and to a method for rendering useless a weapon that includes a barrel, in the event of the weapon being taken or manipulated unlawfully. The device (1) includes a rod (3) having a cavity or bore (2). The rod (3) is adapted for insertion into the barrel (50) of the weapon, and an explosive charge (5) is placed in the cavity (2) of the rod. When an alarm is triggered, the explosive agent (5) is activated and the rod (3) and the barrel (50) are deformed.

L'invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé qui rendent une arme munie d'un canon, au cas où l'arme serait prise et manipulée sans autorisation. Le dispositif (1) comprend une tige (3) présentant une cavité ou alésage (2). La tige (3) est conçue pour s'adapter dans le canon (50) de l'arme, et une charge explosive (5) est placée dans la cavité (2) de la tige.
