The arrangement to purify contaminated ground water and the area of ground through which this flows is installed within a well shaft that is divided into an upper and a lower half by means of tightly insertable partition, and incorporates a circulating pump with which the ground water that flows into and out of the well shaft is pumped up within the well shaft and compelled to flow back into the surrounding area of ground when, on its flow path, it passes through filters.
