ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A novel stable, homogeneous timber preservative composition and technique for its use is provided herein. Inorganic preservation com- ponents, e.g. arsenic salts, or other less toxic chemicals, e g. copper salts or zinc salts, are dissolved in an organic preservative, [creosote], and in an oil-like solvent. The stable, homogeneous composition may be used to impregnate the timber with the inorganic and the organic preserva- tive components in a single operation. Consequently, the additional handling and requirement for secondary seasoning of the timber would be unnecessary.
