A transparent article includes a continuous polyester matrix having at least one incompatible filler dispersed therein. The incompatible filler provides domains in the polyester matrix, each domain having a particular dimension, thus providing a range of dimensions for the domains in the article. To create haze, the dimensions are within the range of from about 380 nm to about 720 nm. Once the range of dimensions is determined, a light absorbent composition can be found which absorbs light at a range of wavelengths that at least substantially covers the range of dimensions of the domains. In doing so, it has been found that the haze of the article can be substantially masked. Method for producing the article and for masking the haze are also provided.
L'invention concerne un article transparent comprenant une matrice continue en polyester dans laquelle au moins une charge incompatible est dispersée. Ladite charge incompatible produit des domaines dans la matrice en polyester, chaque domaine possédant une dimension particulière, ce qui fournit une plage de dimensions pour les domaines de l'article. Pour créer un trouble, les dimensions doivent tomber dans la plage comprise entre environ 380 nm et 720 nm. Une fois que la plage de dimensions est déterminée, une composition absorbant la lumière peut se trouver dans une plage de longueurs d'onde qui couvre au moins sensiblement la plage de dimensions des domaines. De ce fait, on a découvert que le trouble de l'article peut être sensiblement masqué. L'invention concerne également un procédé permettant de produire ledit article et de masquer le trouble de cet article.
