Abstract of the Disclosure Permanent white indicia are applied to a polymeric sur- face, preferably of a black, heat-recoverable marker sleeve for wire or cable, using an ink composition comprising a pigment that is thermally stable at a temperature of at least about 350°C, preferably titanium dioxide and a binder, such as nitrocellulose, and then heating the surface to per- matize the mark. The marked article passes MIL-STD-202 in mark permanence.
