ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A securing device for securing articles above an outer surface of a vehicle and in relation to a clo- sure element, such as a door or trunk lid of the vehicle. The device comprises an arresting element having connec- tion means for detachable securement to an attaching member whereby a portion of the attaching member may be secured in a joint formed between the closure element and a vehicle closure frame with the attaching member passing through the joint and the arresting element fixedly secured to the attaching member and being dis- posed internally of the vehicle. - 1 -
