Abstract of the Disclosure An article vending machine in which the articles are stored in radially extending storage compartment on a series of cylindrical mechanisms selectively rotatable about one or more horizontal axes. A display compartment is disposed in a stationary position between each cylindrical mechanism and the delivery area of the machine and is provided with a transparent panel to permit the viewing of an article therein from the front of the machine. Upon the insertion of the proper coins and the selection of a particular article on display, the corresponding cylindrical mechanism rotates through an angle sufficient to locate one of the storage compartment in juxtaposition with the display compartment. The movement of the cylindrical mechanism automatically releases the article within the display compartment and permits it to drop by gravity to the delivery area for receipt by the purchaser, and the article within the storage compartment similarly drops by gravity into the display compartment. The machine also may include a novel ejector mechanism which is reciprocably movable into the selected storage compartment in order to insure the discharge of the article therefrom. -1-
