An article (100) having a generally domed-shaped crown (102) and an exterior surface. A secondary element (122) extending from the exterior surface at an intersection area (121) between the crown (102) and the secondary element (122). A portion of the exterior surface of the crown (102) typically being raised above the intersection area (121) to give the appearance that the secondary element (122) has torn, morphed, splashed, cracked or phase changed, such as by 10 melting, through the crown (102). The secondary element (122) is typically indicative of a particular sporting club and the article is typically a helmet. The secondary element (122) is also typically integrally molded with the crown (102).
