An article, including disposable articles and durable articles, includes one or more shaped thermoplastic members, which can be at least partially impregnated into one or more fibrous substrates forming a composite material of the article having regions of breathability, elasticity, and/or stiffening to provide desired functions of the article. The shaped thermoplastic members have a profiled thickness and/or basis weight providing variation in material properties. A percent variation of the profiled thickness of the thermoplastic member can vary from about 5% to about 95%. A process for manufacturing the composite material of the present invention is also disclosed.
L'invention concerne un article, notamment des articles jetables et des articles durables, comprenant un ou plusieurs éléments thermoplastiques façonnés, qui peuvent être partiellement incorporés dans un ou plusieurs substrat(s) fibreux pour former une matière composite de l'article présentant des régions de respirabilité, d'élasticité, et/ou de raidissage, lesdits éléments permettant d'obtenir des fonctions souhaitées dudit article. Lesdits éléments thermoplastiques façonnés présentent une épaisseur et/ou un poids de base profilé(e) qui permettent des variations des propriétés de la matière. Le pourcentage de l'épaisseur profilée dudit élément thermoplastique peut varier de 5 % environ à 95 % environ. L'invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication de ladite matière composite de l'invention.
