ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for providing a slip resistant surface by thermally applying a metallic spray coat from materials in a hollow wire with the characteristics of the final coated surface being selectively variable by varying the materials in the hollow wire and an article formed by such process, the slip resistant surface on the article being jagged and generally defined by randomly distributed sharp ridges and pointed peaks of varying depths.
