A prosthetic device (40) for lateral insertion into an intervertebral space is provided. The prosthetic device includes a first component (42) having a first laterally-extending flange (58) for engaging a first vertebra from a lateral approach to the first vertebra, the first component having a first articular surface (52). The prosthetic device further includes a second component (44) having a second laterally-extending flange (68) for engaging a second vertebra from a lateral approach to the second vertebra, the second component having a second articular surface (72) for cooperating with the first articular surface to permit articulating motion between the first and second components.

L'invention concerne un dispositif prothétique (40) destiné à être inséré latéralement dans un espace intervertébral.
