Abstract An articulated vehicle with hydraulic steering comprising a hydraulic control unit and a hydraulic steering motor connected to the control unit by two conduits tends to oscillate if the steering speed changes abruptly and these oscillations detrimentally affect the comfort of travel. The aim is to provide an articulated vehicle with improved driving and steering comfort. For this purpose, parallel to the steering motor 3 there is a hydraulic shock absorber 10 with a closed tubular housing 11 connected at both ends 15, 16 to the two conduits 4, 5 by way of a respective passage 17, 18 and a piston which is movable longitudinally of the housing 10, disposed in the region of the middle of the housing 10 and on both sides of which there is a respective spring 13, 14 pre-stressed by pre-stressing means 24, 31; 25, 32 which are connected to the piston 12 and, on movement of the piston, permit only compression of the spring 13, 14 between the housing ends 15, 16 and the piston but no expansion of the spring 13, 14, the response pressure of the shock absorber 10 having a predeter- mined value as a result of pre-stressing the springs.
