An intervertebral disc implant for use in the spine including a first part (10) and a second part (20), wherein the first part and second part are configured as a joint prosthesis for the spine. The first part includes one of a concave or convex articulating surface (16) and the second part includes one of the other concave or convex articulating surface (26). One of the concave or convex articulating surfaces is preferably elliptically shaped in at least one direction and does not match and is different than one of the other concave or convex articulating surfaces.

Linvention concerne un implant de disque intervertébral à utiliser dans la colonne vertébrale comprenant une première partie (10) et une seconde partie (20), la première et la seconde partie étant configurées comme une prothèse darticulation pour la colonne vertébrale. La première partie comprend une surface parmi une surface darticulation concave ou convexe (16) et la seconde partie comprend lautre surface parmi les  surfaces darticulation concave ou convexe (26). Lune des surfaces darticulation concaves ou convexes est de préférence de forme elliptique dans au moins une direction et ne concorde pas, et se montre différente de lune des autres surfaces darticulation concaves ou convexes.
