ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved artificial beta cell for controlling a quantity of insulin infusion is disclosed. The artificial beta cell comprises a glucose-sensor, a computing circuit, an infusing means and a printer for registering the time, the measured blood glucose, forecasted blood glucose and insulin infusion rate every time. In the apparatus, a real quantity of insulin required is calculated in the computing circuit from blood glucose con- centration and rate of change in blood glucose concentration on an individual basis.
