The present invention is directed to an artificial blood vessel made of a tube formed from expanded polytetrafluoroethylene comprising fibrils and nodes connecting fibrils, in which the inner surface of said tube and the surfaces of fibrils and nodes constituting pores in a layer portion extending from the inner surface of said tube to a depth of at least 5% of the wall thickness in a radial direction from said inner surface are made hydrophilic, and a tissue-inducing substance which is immobilized on said inner surface and said surfaces of fibrils and nodes constituting pores which are made hydrophilic. The artificial blood vessel of the present invention has a good patency ratio over a long period of time.
