An artificial blood vessel is comprised of a tubular portion having a lumen. At least one pocket is located along the tubular portion and enclosed is a chamber which communicates with the lumen of the tubular portion. A port is attached to the pocket for providing access to the chamber enclosed by the pocket. The port has a grommet provided with passage that leads to the chamber in the pocket and a valve for normally isolating the passage from the chamber but capable of providing communication between the opening of the chamber.
