An artificial disc device for replacing a damaged nucleus is disclosed. In one form, the device may be inserted in components such that the device may be assembled within and retained by the natural annulus therein. In another form, the device may be inserted into the natural annulus in a collapsed or compressed state or arrangement and then be expanded within and retained by the annulus therein. In a further form, the device may be provided with a releasable connection so that the device may be connected in an insertion configuration and may be released in an operable configuration. Insertion tools and methods are also disclosed.
L'invention concerne un dispositif à disque artificiel permettant de remplacer un noyau endommagé. Dans un mode de réalisation, le dispositif peut être introduit dans des composants de manière à être assemblé à l'intérieur de l'annulus naturel et retenu par celui-ci. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, le dispositif peut être introduit dans l'annulus naturel dans un état ou agencement effondré ou comprimé et peut ensuite être étendu à l'intérieur de l'annulus et retenu par celui-ci. Encore dans un autre mode de réalisation, le dispositif peut comprendre une connexion pouvant être libérée de manière que le dispositif puisse être connecté dans une conception d'introduction et puisse être libéré dans une conception de fonctionnement. L'invention concerne enfin des outils et procédés d'introduction.
