An artificial esophagus characterized by comprising a tube having a layer of microfibrillar collagen on its outer side. It is capable of retaining over a certain period the effect characteristic of collagen such that esophageal epithelium regeneration is accelerated in a defective region of the esophagus to thereby effect esophageal neogenesis. It is decomposed and absorbed by the body in accordance with the neogenesis and thus leaves no foreign substance. It does not require an operator to use a complicated suturing technique. It is free from bleeding or air leakage from the suture, and facilitates stent removal after esophageal reconstruction.

Oesophage artificiel se caractérisant en ce qu'il comporte un tube ayant une couche de collagène microfibrillaire sur son côté extérieur. Il est capable de conserver pendant une certaine période l'effet caractéristique du collagène de sorte que la régénération de l'épithélium oesophagien est accélérée dans une région défectueuse de l'oesophage et de produire ainsi la néogenèse oesophagienne. Il se décompose et est absorbé par le corps selon ladite néogenèse et ne laisse pas de corps étranger. Le chirurgien ne doit pas recourir à une technique de suture compliquée. Ledit oesophage artificiel n'occasionne pas de saignement ou de fuite d'air par la suture et facilite le retrait de l'extenseur après la reconstruction de l'oesophage.
