An artificial hair which is closely similar to natural hair in appearance, touch and feeling such as texture and has favorable physical data close to natural hair and a wig using this artificial hair. This artificial hair (1) has a core/sheath structure consisting of a core part (1B) and a sheath part (1A) covering the core part (1B). By using a polyamide resin, in particular, a semiaromatic polyamide resin for the core part (1B) and a polyamide resin, in particular, a straight-chain saturated aliphatic polyamide having a lower bending rigidity than the core part (1B) as the sheath part (1A), for example, the bending rigidity close to natural hair can be obtained. Moreover, changes and behaviors of the artificial hair depending on humidity change can be controlled in such a manner closely similar to natural hair. By using this artificial hair, therefore, it is possible to provide a wig having a natural feeling and an excellent appearance.
