The invention concerns an artificial sphincter provided with a valve permanently implanted on a duct or organ whether biological or not during a surgical operation and subsequently easily activable from outside the human body by the patient himself and also easily adjustable from outside the human body during a postoperative session by a doctor. The artificial sphincter valve (17) comprises a rigid and sealed housing (1, 3, 16), provided with a support conduit (11) receiving said duct (1), and a strap (4) compressing said duct against a wall of said conduit, said strap being maintained tight by a spring element (12) pressing on a lower disk (6) bearing a first magnet (9), the whole assembly being mobile in axial translation in said housing. It also comprises an upper disk (14) screwed in said housing forming an axial stop for the first magnet and bearing a second magnet (15). A permanent magnet (18) outside said human body is used to activate the first magnet (9) to slacken the strap (4) and open said duct (2). An electromagnet (27) outside said human body is used to rotate the second magnet (15) and the upper disk (14) to adjust the tension of the strap and the degree of closure of the duct (2). The artificial sphincter is used, for example, to remedy problems related to bladder or bowel incontinence, to modify by remote control the opening of the human pylorus or for the contraction of an organ whether biological or nor.

La présente invention concerne un sphincter artificiel pourvu d'une vanne implantée à demeure sur un canal ou un organe biologique ou non lors d'une intervention chirurgicale et ensuite activable facilement de l'extérieur du corps humain par le patient lui-même et également réglable facilement de l'extérieur du corps humain lors d'une séance postopératoire par un médecin. La vanne (17) du sphincter artificiel comporte un boîtier (1, 3, 16) rigide et hermétique, pourvu d'un conduit de maintien (11) recevant ledit canal (1), et une sangle (4) comprimant ce canal contre une paroi dudit conduit, cette sangle étant maintenue tendue par un organe ressort (12) qui appuie sur un disque inférieur (6) portant un premier aimant (9), le tout étant mobile en translation axiale dans ledit boîtier. Il comporte également un disque supérieur (14) vissé dans ledit boîtier, formant une butée axiale pour le premier aimant et portant un second aimant (15). Un aimant permanent (18) extérieur audit corps humain permet d'activer le premier aimant (9) pour détendre la sangle (4) et ouvrir ledit canal (2). Un électroaimant tournant (27) extérieur audit corps humain permet de faire tourner le second aimant (15) et le disque supérieur (14) pour ajuster la tension de la sangle et le degré de fermeture du canal (2). Applications: ce sphincter artificiel permet, par exemple, de remédier aux problèmes d'incontinence urinaire ou anale, de modifier de manière contrôlée et à distance l'ouverture du pylore chez l'être humain ou la contraction d'un organe biologique ou non.
