A synthetic grass surface (10) includes widely spaced rows (13) of ribbons (15) projecting from a flexible backing sheet (12). Thermal regulating means (23) are attached to the backing sheet (12) in the spaces between the rows (13) of the ribbons (15). A relatively thick infill layer (17) is disposed on the top of the backing sheet (12), thereby burying the thermal regulating means (23) and holding the ribbons (15) upright. The infill layer (17) may include a growing medium for plant growth. In one embodiment, electric cables (27) are integrated into the synthetic grass surface (10) in order to heat the surface for de icing or to maintain plant root warmth. In another embodiment, perforated flexible pipes (29) are integrated into the synthetic grass surface (10) to moisten the surface, thereby cooling the surface when the moisture evaporates. The thermal regulating system (23) of the invention is energy efficient and economical to install and operate.
L'invention concerne une surface (10) en gazon synthétique comprenant des rangées (13) de ruban (15) très espacées faisant saillie à partir d'une feuille de support (12) souple. Des moyens (23) de thermorégulation sont fixés à ladite feuille de support (12) dans les espaces situés (13) entre les rubans (15). Une couche de remplissage (17) relativement épaisse est disposée sur la partie supérieure de la feuille de support (12), ce qui permet d'enterrer les moyens (23) de thermorégulation et de maintenir les rubans (15) verticaux. La couche de remplissage (17) peut comprendre un milieu de croissance permettant de faire pousser des végétaux. Dans un mode de réalisation, des câbles électriques (27) sont intégrés dans la surface (10) en gazon synthétique afin de chauffer ladite surface pour la dégivrer ou pour maintenir la chaleur d'une racine végétale. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, des tuyaux perforés (29) souples sont intégrés dans la surface (10) en gazon synthétique afin d'humidifier ladite surface, ce qui permet de refroidir cette surface lorsque l'humidité s'évapore. Le système (23) de thermorégulation est énergétiquement efficace et économique à installer et à faire fonctionner.
