A support apparatus is used for supporting paintings while applying watercolor media. There is a base member and a support member having a flat upper surface. A pivotal connection between the members allows the support member to be tilted from side to side and fore and aft. In one example, a first of the members has a convex surface facing a second of the members. The second member has an annular edge against convex surface and is movable over the surface in contact therewith.
