Abstract: New arylisothiocyanates corresponding to the formula Image (I) wherein R represents alkyl, alkoxy or halogen X represents oxygen or sulfur and p represents an integer of from 2 to 5 are disclosed. They can be used for the regulation of plant growth especially for the dessication and defoliation of unliquified parts of plants above the soil.
