ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides novel 3-aryloxy-3- phenylpropylamines of the formula I Image I wherein each R1 and R2 is independently hydrogen or methyl; R3 and R4 are halo, trifluoromethyl, C2-C4 alkyl, C1-C3 alkoxy or C3-C4 alkenyl; and n and m are O, 1 or 2, with the limitation that both n and m are not O when both R1 are methyl and both R2 are hydrogen; and acid addition salts thereof formed with pharmaceutically-acceptable acids. These compounds are useful as psychotropic agents, particularly as anti-depressants.
