The invention provides compounds, compositions and methods relating to arylsulfonanilide derivatives having the formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein Ar is a member selected from the group consisting of (a), (b), (c), and (d) and their use as pharmacologically active agents. The compositions find particular use as pharmacological agents in the treatment of disease states particularly cancer, psoriasis, vascular restenosis, infections, atherosclerosis and hypercholesterolemia, or as lead compounds for the development of such agents.

L'invention concerne des composés, des compositions et des procédés relatifs à de nouveaux dérivés d'arylsulfonanilide correspondant à la formule (I), ou à un sel pharmaceutiquement acceptable de ceux-ci. Dans ladite formule (I), Ar est sélectionné dans le groupe constitué par (a), (b), (c) et (d). L'invention concerne en outre l'utilisation de ces dérivés ou de leur sel pharmaceutiquement acceptable comme agents pharmacologiquement actifs. Les compositions selon l'invention conviennent particulièrement en tant qu'agents pharmacologiques, pour le traitement d'états pathologiques, notamment du cancer, du psoriasis, de la resténose vasculaire, d'infections, de l'athérosclérose et de l'hypercholestérolémie, ou en tant que chefs de file, pour la mise au point d'agents pharmacologiquement actifs.
