ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The as cast track shoe is cast from a tough wear resistant alloy steel, which steel is incapable of being forged into the sizes and shapes necessary to provide a track shoe having the desired strength, wear resistance, and hardness. The shoe requires no machining and includes sprocket windows for receiving sprocket teeth, and shoe connecting bores that receive resilient bushings with con- necting pins therein. After casting, the entire shoe is through hardened to a hardness within the range of about Rockwell C33 - C40; and thereafter a guide and certain critical surfaces of the sprocket windows are preferably case hardened to a hardness within the range of about Rockwell C45 - C55. -la-
