A method is provided for treatment of premature ejaculation by administration of an antidepressant drug selected from tricyclic antidepressants, tetracyclic antidepressants, MAO inhibitors, azaspirone antidepressants, and atypical non- SRI antidepressants. In a preferred embodiment, administration is on as "as- needed" basis, i.e., the drug is administered immediately or at most several hours prior to sexual activity. Pharmaceutical formulations and packaged kits are also provided.
L'invention concerne une méthode de traitement de l'éjaculation précoce, consistant à administrer un antidépresseur sélectionné parmi les antidépresseurs tricycliques, les antidépresseurs tétracycliques, les inhibiteurs de la monoamine oxydase (MAO), les antidépresseurs d'azaspirone, et les antidépresseurs atypiques non-SRI. Dans un mode préféré de réalisation, l'administration se fait au besoin, autrement dit, le médicament est administré immédiatement, ou du moins plusieurs heures avant l'activité sexuelle. Par ailleurs, l'invention concerne des formulations pharmaceutiques et des kits emballés.
