ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is disclosed a shovelling device for removing ashes from an ash-pit. The shovel comprises a box-like casing, including top and bottom walls, two side walls, a rear wall, and a front flap door hingedly secured to the top wall. A handle projects outwardly from the rear wall of the casing. A closure member is mounted on the outer face of the casing top wall, so as to releasably close by the outside the casing flap door.
