ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to an electronic hardware ASIC prototyper permitting the emulation of integrated circuits or ASICs, so that testing of the component to be generated is possible in the later hardware environment. The time behaviour of an ASIC is considered during emulation by insertion of programmable delay units into logic cells. A plurality of these logic cells are interconnected in logic modules which are combined with delay units in programmable coupling fields. Consideration of the time behaviour of the ASIC allows for a more complete emulation.
